Ephraim Edgar of S.C.

I am looking for any information on Ephraim Edgar. He is listed on the 1850 Pickens Co., S.C. census with his wife Elizabeth and kids Martha, Adam, Charles, William, Ezekiel, and James. At least four of the kids, including Charles and William, went to Lauderdale Co., Miss., where they enlisted in the Confederate army. After the war they went to Texas. William married Martha Rawson in Lauderdale Co., in 1860. Does anyone know Ephraim's parents' or his wife's maiden name? I would be grateful for any help. Thanks, John.
