Frankie, so far none of our Edgars seem to have gone to Georgia. Gov. Edggars family originated in Dumfrieshire, Scotland. James Edgar was born there in 1803. They came directly to Coles County, Illinois. They settled around a small town called Humboldt, in East Central Illinois, near the Illinois Central Railroad. Most of them lived out their lives there and are buried in the Humboldt Cemetery. My wife is first cousin to Gov. Edgar. We are still researching this family.
