Hi Bob, I am posting my "reply" to your other inquiry, here, so that the others may also participate in this discussion on your Adam Edgar family of SC. I have researched several early Adam Edgars in SC, NC and PA, because my original immigrant to the US was Adam Edgar who came to Washington Co., PA in 1784 and is buried in Cross Creek Cemetary with his wife Jane, in Wash. Co., PA. This Adam Edgar is not the father of the famous Judge James Edgar of Washington Co., PA, however I have found reliable sources that state that Adam Edgar of York Co., PA that went on to SC with his son William, and founded a coventor's Pres. church, was also the father of Judge James Edgar of Washington Co., PA. According to Pres. church records, Adam Edgar donated land for Edgar's church or Brick's church in SC, was an elder in the church and died before 1801. His son, William Edgar after his father's death went on to Illinois and founded another church. This sounds like your Adam Edgar family! However, there is another Adam and William Edgar in Craven, NC, that needs to be investigated further. I wonder if they are one and the same Adam Edgar family? I am also a member of the Edgar DNA project, and I am distantly related to James Edgar, our administrator. I am here to help, feel free to email me at onsims@aol.com or we can continue this discussion here, or both! Regards, Sharon Edgar
