Hi Murray, maybe our families are related?
You know Bobcaygeon, Ontario is only about 40 miles from where my great, great grandfather, SAMUEL EDGAR settled with his family, just outside of APSLEY in CHANDOS, Ontario (Chandos Lake). Samuel was a STONEMASON. He came to Canada on November 27, 1860 on a ship called the CITY OF BALTIMORE (Liverpool to New York) with his family.
SAMUEL EDGAR was born just outside of Belfast and christened at PRESBYTERIAN BOARDMILLS CHURCH January 18, 1814. The only other sibling of SAMUEL EDGAR I know of was a "male" christened August, 1823. But I am sure he had a big family. SAMUEL's parents were JOHN EDGAR and MARGARET HARVEY. SAMUEL's father, JOHN EDGAR's parents may have been "John Edgar and Isabella Graham" or "James Edgar and Mary Mossgrove". These people have children named John born 1782 and 1789 born at the Killany/Boardmills Church. I am just speculating. These years would connect though. SAMUEL and MARGARET EDGAR lived in SAINTFIELD.
According to my family, SAMUEL's other siblings may have come to Canada before him. I know Samuel came to Canada to "check it out" and worked in Peterborough for a while as a Stonemason. He built a log house for his family to live in, in Chandos, before bringing them to Canada.
Murray, my great, great grandfather, SAMUEL EDGAR's wife was MARGARET MCKEE (b. June 9, 1820, County Down). Her parents were ROBERT MCKEE and MARY CARSON. SAMUEL'S children were:

Margaret Edgar married Stephen Scott
MARY JANE EDGAR (b. 1855) married Alphonso Kilborn.
MARGARET HARVET EDGAR (b. 1845) married Stephen Scott.
SAMUEL EDGAR and MARGARET MCKEE had two other children, Agnes and William but they died as children in Ireland.
