"Edgar, Capt. Thomas murdered a few days ago. Of Bedford County." as found in The Lynchburg Virginian (newspaper)Nov. 24, 1825, page 3 column 3. This is all I have, I do not have the entire article. Additional info on this Thomas Edgar of Bedford, Va: 1.he is found on the 1810 and 1820 census for Bedford 2. married Eliz. P. Holt, 2 July 1804 Bedford, and she is Eliz. P. Price, daughter of Robert, that first married Samuel Holt on 7 Mar 1791 Bedford. Thomas Edgar gave surety for the following daughters of Eliz. Price Holt Edgar; Nancy, Polly and Elvira P. Holt in Bedford. 3. War of 1812 Service Records 3 Reg't (Dickinson's) Virginia Militia. Inducted as Lieutenant, discharged as 2nd Lieutenant. There is only 1 Thomas Edgar of VA listed in these records. 4. I believe that this Thomas Edgar is the son of James and Phebe Wright Edgar of Bedford. See post # 1175 on this forum additional info on James Edgar. "payment to Alfred E. H. Edgar for his portion as heir to Thomas Edgar, deceased." August, 1833. 5. Most of Thomas Edgar's family went on to MO.including his wife. I am currently working on the Edgar family of Bedford and Botetourt Counties, VA before 1800, and I have lots of factual info that I will be posting to this board. Additions and corrections, welcome, however I would like to limit info to before 1800. Thanks so much, Sharon Edgar Notify Administrator about this message?
