Thomas Edgar Norfolk VA 1776
Posted by: Sharon Edgar (ID *****6245) Date: June 02, 2007 at 10:30:15
  of 1639

This is a courtesy posting that I located in American Migrations 1765-1799. I have no further info on this individual at this time. However, I am very interested in ALL Thomas Edgar(s), and there are several, in VA before 1800.

"Thomas Edgar of Norfolk, ship master. Memorial London 1784. For many years before the war he sailed between Britain and America. His property in Norfolk was burned in 1776. Claim for sugar and spirits. Letter from claimant to the Commission dated Glasgow, June 1788: he arrived Jamica three weeks ago and has to sail in a month as master of a ship; as his personal attendance in London is required to substantiate his small claim, he fears he may have to waive it."
