Ages on entry to Aust in that period are often dubious. They had quite strict rules on ages that they would let settlers in during the 1840's and 50's I am told. I had a family of mine who where about 10-15 years younger than they actually were when they came out to Adelaide. To get the 5 pound there was definately a limit in SA.
