The Daniel and William Eggers mentioned in your posting were descended from George and Avis Eggers who married July 4, 1749 in Monmouth Co. New Jersey.Their son, Daniel Eggers, was baptized April 26, 1752 in Freehold, Monmouth Co. NJ.During the revolutionary war, Daniel moved to Wilkes Co. North Carolina and is found in records there and in Ashe Co. from 1778 until 1811.1817 July 24 Daniel Eggers "of the County of Wain & State of Indiana" deeds 50 acres to Levi Blackburn. Signed Daniel Eggers. Witnesses: Matthew Tatum; Landrine Eggers; James Tatum; William Rash. Proved by oath of Matthew Tatum Nov. Term 1817. Daniel Eggers, Jr. sold land in Putnam Co. Indiana in 1835 and in 1840is listed on the census of Crawford Co. Missouri - he does have children born in Putnam Co. Indiana who have not been fully identified.William had moved on to Fulton Co. Illinois before marrying, so it is unlikely that William would be a possibility. If a mutilation of the Eggers name took place, it did so before 1747 when George first appears in the church records in Monmouth Co. New Jersey.(And I have been looking into that possibility!)
