Hi All, Just to let you know, I have found out the details for the final resting place of Benjamin Caldwell Edes, after a number of years trying to find this out.

H, ande died in Key West in 1844, but there were no details as to where he was buried.

I had thought maybe the cemetery in Key West, or at Fort Zachary Taylor itself as well as trying to find details at Barrancas Nat. Cemetery in Pensacola, certainly a distance from Key West.

Earlier this week I had placed a note on the Florida Message page as a long shot, and sure enough a guy researching the Caldwell family sent me an email with B.C. Edes' details, at Barrancas National Cemetery, part of the NAS Pensacola site.

He had also suggested to contact Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness for a volunteer in Escambia Co. (Pensacola) to possibly go there and take a photograph and obtain any burial details.

Yesterday I received an email with three photographs of the headstone and some details from the register.

Anyway details are as follows

1st Lieut. Benjamin Caldwell Edes, USA
died Key West 1844.
possibly originally buried in Key West and later reburied at
Barrancas National Cemetery
Section 16, Site 5
NAS Pensacola, 80 Hovey Rd.
Pensacola, Fla, 32508 (Escambia Co.)
