roger (rollins) edens
Seeking information about Rollins (changed to Roger) Edens, b. November 9, 1905 in Hillsboro, Texas. Edens legally changed his name from Rollins to Roger for his musical career in New York and later in Hollywood. He was a piano accompanist for Ethel Merman and later did musical scores for Judy Garland and many others in 1930s Hollywood for MGM.
He may have been related to the Rollins family and to John W. Harkrider whose Mother was a Rollins. Harkrider was born in 1899 in Ft. Worth, Texas due north of Hillsboro, Texas.
Harkrider was involved with the Ziegfeld Follies and musical productions in Hollywood from 1932 to 1937. Harkrider also in the early 1940s designed costumes for Cole Porter musicals on Broadway, namely "Let's Face It."
I would appreciate any information relating to the Rollins family and the Edens or Harkrider families.
