Who was Ld.Pannewell,Rich.Ed.'s fr-n-law

I just read on a gen site where Elizebeth Banton, the wife of Richard Edelen, the imigrant to U.S., was the daughter of a "Lord Pannewell". It also said that she was born about 1639 in England, and died in St. Mary's Co, Md. She and Richard were married on 10/29/1663 at Paul's Wharf, in London, England. It must be true that she was the daughter of Lord Pannewell, becasue I have seen where that name was evidently carried on in the Edelen line, becuase I have seen in the Edelen descendants in America the name Pannewell used as a middle name or a first name, I can't remember. But I am wondering:
Who in land's sake was Lord Pannewell? And waht was his title and what did he do and what were his responsibilities, etc., and a real name if possible? I am just curious about this.
David Middleton Edelen II
