Bill,

Very interested in your post about the family of Jacob Edeborn, and of your ancestor, Mary Attaburn/Edeburn--even if I am a bit late in finding it! :>)

My Arterburn (also Atterburn) family line has not been successfully traced beyond American shores, even though we've found one Arterburn in London (1676) and some Atterborns there.

I've recently launched a DNA project in hope of breaking through this barrier. Some of us think that "Edeborn/Edeburn" might be a good prospect for sharing a common ancestor in Germany. You can see our results to date at the website:

http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Arterburn/

Could you help us find a proven male descendant of Jacob who might be willing to participate in a DNA test (at my expense)? The results might give Edeburn descendants some insights about their heritage, and I can assure you that Arterburn descendants would be grateful!

Best wishes,
Charles R. Arterburn
