Dear Mark:

I have begun researching original documents of the Brown County, Ohio area. Sometimes it takes only one single name to unlock the secrets of a family.
If you have a good view of Temperance Strait, please send it
along...we are dealing with a generation who could not read
or write. Records will be scant.
One thing emerges when you recearch them for a lifetime...
a person picks up on their personas to an extent...gets to know them. The why's of their life becomes as important as
what they did. The struggle of their lives emerges and a
clearer perspective of how they faced and conquered adversity gives us a view of who WE really are.
It has always been most important to not gloss over aspects
of their lives and be judgemental...the truth IS always
stranger than the fiction....their nobility has never
been in what others have wanted them to be, but in the fact
that they survived life and coped with it with the same skills that we would have used if we had been there in that time.

David Kennedy.....thanks
