WE have no clue about the source of my grandfather's (Frank Eddington Snyder) middle name. My father then inherited it as a jr. but never asked why. Grandpa was born in Waterford, NY, lived in Schenectady as a child. His parents were George W. Snyder and Julia GARDINER of New York. Their first son was named after the father. Frank Eddington was the second son and it makes sense that he could be named from the maternal line.
Middle names are usually family names, but my dad named one of his sons in honor of a friend. So, Eddington could have been inherited from Julia GARDINER's family or ????
We know next to nothing factual about this Julia Gardiner.
