On Dec 10, 2011 at 10 am, The Samuel Edington family cemetery will be rededicated by the Sons of Confederate Veterans at Samuel's plantation on Coldstream Farm Rd. North of Madisonville, TN. Cherry Hill Plantation was built in 1838 by Samuel. The Lay family owns 400 of the original plantation as a dairy farm. They have graciously
allowed us to fence and replace some of the stones. It will be a very special ceremony. I am working at finding all the descendents. John & Sarah Tipton Edington are buried in that general area also, according to the 1830 Monroe Co. census record. I have seen both Edington and Eddington spellings for this same family. I descend thru John & Sarah's daughter Jemima who m. Benjamin Johnson & live in the Mt. Pleasant area of Monroe Co. TN. If you are a relative, I'd love to talk with you.
Blessed Be, Jo Ann Giles
