This may be the same as Enos Ector who appears on the 1870 Wilkes Co. GA census. He is age 40 at the time, of African-American descent.I can only guess he later moved to Elbert County and went to work for Thomas Maxwell.
There is somewhat of distant Maxwell/Ector connection later on, though.Robert W. Maxwell b. 1815 in Wilkes Co., son of a Thomas Maxwell born in NC around 1790, had a daughter named Bethany Prudence Maxwell."Prudie" first married Calaway Sisson, and their daughter, Rendie Sisson married my gr-grandfather, Levi. M. Ector.
All I know of this Thomas Maxwell was that he may have married an Elizabeth.Son Robert W. married Bethany Talbot.Would these be connected to your Maxwells?
Sorry for not seeing your post here earlier!
