I've been researching this family (off and on) for quite a few years and may have corresponded with you at one time. My husband's great-great grandfather is Hassell Chandler, son of Zachariah Chandler and Sarah Eckles. In 1843, the husbands of Sarah's daughters had her declared incompetent of managing the estate of Zachariah Chandler. This is taken from the document:
....he has good reasons to apprehend and doth verily believe that the said property will be wholly squandered and wasted by the said Sarah Chandler unless this Court shall intercede to prevent it, and that the children of the said Zachariah Chandler will be deprived of any and all benefit of said property so left by their father as afore said, and upon the further statements of the said Lantern that the said Sarah Chandler has already sold and disposed of one of the said Negros towit Sally, and that she expresses her threats and intensions to sell and dispose of the balance of said Negros and then in truth the advanced age - childish state of decrepitude - she is not capable or qualified to take charge of or manage said property with any degree of prudence or discretion.
I also have a photo of Alphonso and his wife and a picture of each of two of their sons. Don't know where I got them; somebody I corresponded with sent them to me.
As usual, I'm happy to share. I live in Edom, just outside of Henderson County, TX. Would love to see what you might have.
