Hello, I did that research long, long ago and don't remember what county in Virginia but I do remember it taking me to Charles County and St. Mary's County, Maryland. Seems a lot of the lines connected to our Echols/Eckles all came to Wilkes County, Georgia from that part of Maryland. The Maryland bunch came from various regions in Virginia but I cannot remember the exact counties. I do remember that the name took on variations of grand proportions in Virginia. Echolls, Eckholls, etc. Even a swamp named after one of them! Barbara
