Patrick, Deleware Co., NY is exceedingly difficult to research as the area was originally wooded and logged by transients. It is now mostly hay and dairy country. Few records have survived. Little is available from the local genealogical society. Not much in the courthouse. I did find part of the family buried in Arkville, but mostly under field stones with no inscriptions.

In the 1860 Census, William Lewis is listed with John and Jane Eckler, presumably his aging parents. I believe his father John is the son of John Eckler and Gertrude Brandow. Hence, you are part of the Hudson Valley Eckler's, descendants of Christian Eigler of the 1710 Palatine migration from Germany by way of Holland and London.
