Just out of curiosity I searched for Ecklar and Cordray in Google. Two pages came up.

The US Gen Web Pendleton County, KY site has an index to the 1880 census at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~kypendle/censusindex1880.htm
Since both families are in the same county, I thought your Frank and Vada might be there, or at least their ancestors. You didn't put any dates on the people, so it is impossible to tell if we should look in a web-based phone book or an index to the 1850 census to help you.

The Mormons just put the entire 1880 census on-line at
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp
but everyone in the world is looking for relatives and their server is crumbling under the load. You might get in either late at night or early in the morning. It is slower than molasses in January at the moment; all across the country lawns are going unmowed and little league soccer players uncheered as 300,000 people spend their Saturday mornings hitting the site.

There is an obituary of a lady who was related to both families somehow in
