Hi,
I think your Louis Eckhoff was the brother of my g-g- grandmother who was Gesche Anna Eckhoff. I believe their parents were Henry Eckhoff and Rebecca Meinke. They settled around the Jacksonville, Illinois area. Gesche married John Robohm. They were in Cleveland, Ohio around 1855, then moved to Chicago where they were around the time of the first Chicago fire before moving to Illinois. After that they moved to the Corder, Missouri area. According to my notes, Louis and Gesche (Mary) had children Henry, Rebecca and Anna. Much of this information I got from Richard Wohler over the internet. Some of the info came from the church records in Illinois.
