Larkin Eckford

I am lookiing for information on Larkin Eckford. According to the 1870 census he was born 1808 in North Carolina. However the 1880 census stated South Carolina as his place of birth. He lived in Mississippi and later moved to Texas around 1860. He was a Methodist Minister in Coldsprings, Texas. He was married Martha Robinson on May 2, 1868 in San Jancito county. There were Robinsons listed in Larkin's household on the 1880 census. Perhaps these were Martha children by a previous marrage.

I believe that he may have been the slave of Sarah Ann (McGowen) Eckford. According the the 1860 Slave Schedule, she had 21 slaves in Polk county.

I would appreciate any information.

Thanks
