Hi Colin
Only just read your message from January.
I found a Gregory marrying an Eckersley during my research into my family. This may be a lead for you.
William Eckersley, christened 4.1.1774 in Deane married an Ann Gregory, born around 1775, in Westhoughton on 17.2.1795.
They had James, Mary, John, Ellen, Ann,William, Betty and Mariah.
William and Ann Gregory both died in Grange over Sands. I assume they retired there.
I also have William's ancestors back to the late 1500's if this is your family.
Pauline
