Hi Ashleigh
Thank you for the reply. Seeing that Israels mother was Mary Pilling there is possibly no connection. My great grandfather was Albert Eckersall and there is confusion with his father John Eckersall who married Mary Ann Wild and another John Eckersall who married Mary Pilling. Both couples had several children and on the 1841 census they are both living in Rooden Lane. I am not sure yet which John is the father of my Albert. The birth records of some of the children seem to imply that they are the offspring of John and Mary (Pilling) yet they appear on the census as living with John and Mary Ann Wild. I notice that Israel had a brother Isiah and my Albert named one of his sons Isiah, family tradition or just coincidence I am not sure which! I am awaiting Albert's birth certificate which may answer some of my questions. If you can shed any light on this I would be very grateful.
