Could the step-children of Lucy's been SANSOM instead of Lawson-is this from an old record? I know in reading old records of the Sansom family it is often transcribed in the indexes as Lawson but if you know the family, it is Sansom.

Milner Echols (likely of Pittsylvania Co., Va., married a Susannah Sansom. They died in the mid 1850's in Walton Co., Ga. and buried there. Echols Co., Ga named after their son, Robert Milner Echols. Milner was a s/o James Echols.
He had brothers Absolem, Obediah also.

Will Book 1806-08 Wilkes Co., Ga. page 146.

Will of ANNA DANIEL. To son MOSES ECHOLS, and daughter CATHERINE DANIEL, stock, etc. TO SONS JEREMIAH AND HOPKINS, a certain tract of land in the county of Pittsylvania, state of Va., 200 acres to be divided between them. Son, Moses, David Bates and George Willis, Execrs. Signed 20 August 1806, probated 3 Nov. 1806. Jeremiah Terry, Cyrus Billingslea, and REUBEN ECHOLS, Test.

Don't know if sons Jeremiah and Hopkins were Daniel sons or Echols sons.

I suspect David Bates is related to Echols somehow.
There was a Clarke Echols in Early Wilkes Co., Ga. records
