My Grandfather told me years ago that our Echols name used to be Echoltz and we were German descent. I asked my aged aunt about this and she said NO... we are English...your Great-Great Grandfather was from England. AND my grandparents used to talk frequently about being Black Dutch. A friend from Holland told me that Black Dutch are a group of people from an area (~maybe he said the Black Forest?) close to the German Border....
