William Franklin Echols and Mary Jane Holley Gentry ( David Gentry other spouse) were the parents of my great grandmother, Ruth Elizabeth Echols ( b. 5-12-1861, d. 1938). Ruth married first John Hamilton Hill and had several children and then when Hill was murdered by a tenant farmer. She then married William Benjamin McWilliams ( m. 11-24-1889). My grandmother Verda Lee McWilliams is a product of her marriage to MCWilliams. I have a picture of most of her children in Texas during a reunion, right after my father was born about 1924 or 1925.

Did you know that William Franklin Echols was a Confederate veteran? He applied for a pension in Bell County Texas. His application number is 21535.

I have his parents names. They were Nathan M. Echols and Martha Horton. I will try to forward a descendent chart to you.

My email address is jlpbky@gateway.net
I had Mary Jane's her brothers and sisters listed as John, Tilma, and Benton Echols.
