FWIW - my line: John Echols (b. 1650), Richard Echols (b. 1714), Joseph "Moses" Echols (b. 1725), Tabitha A. Echols (b. 06 SEP 1764) who m. Nathan Gunn Formby and had daughter Mary Ann "Polly" Formby (b. 18 JUL 1784), who m. William Day and William H. Moore. William H. Moore had daughter Sarah Moore (b. 1806) who m. James L. Cottle. James L. Cottle had daughter Almedia Cathine Cottle (b. 10 APR 1846), who m. Benjamin Heath Bonner (my paternal line). I have real troubles with this line. Why is he sometimes called "Moses" and sometimes "Joseph". Is he the same person? And isn't 1725 a little early to be born if his dad was born in 1714? and his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Wynne, was she the daughter of William Wynne? And when was she born? I have 2 dates, one which would make her father 5 years old when she was born, and another which would make her 10 years old when she married. Both seem pretty unlikely. I read the Milner Echols history, and he is very close relations to these people so I think his stuff must be pretty accurate - so the dates must be messed up. I am more concerned with the prospects of Elizabeth Wynne not being the daughter of William Wynne. Is there anyone out there who can demonstrate the parentage of the Elizabeth Wynne who m. Moses Echols? I would also like to know if anyone out their noticed Milner Echols reference to Israel Moore. Tabitha Echols m. William Moore. Is this the same person, or did multiple daughters marry Moores? If anyone has had these concerns before me, and straightened them out, I would love to hear about it. I am interested in exchanging any and all info with anybody concerned. gbonner@umich.edu
