Thanks for the reply. I did some research and Sarah Ray was the daughter of John Ray and Susan Vance and Solomon Ray was the son of John Ray. I think possibly that I am a generation off on the research of JaneEchols born in 1779 probably i NC. What I mean by that is for example Richard Echols was the son of John Echols and Mary Cave. I know most if not all of Richard Echol's children went to Wilkes co or Oglethorpe co Ga by the 1790's. I have been researching this line thinking Jane might have been the daughter of one of the sons of Richard Echols but Richard Echols had one or tow sons who were old enough to have had sons who had sons old enough ot have been Jane's father. In other workds I was thinking maybe Jane was the granddaughter of Richard Echols but she might have been his great grand daughter. Richard Echols is just one example since all or most of his children went to Ga but I am researching the descendants of his brothers. John Echols who died in 1750 in Beaufort co North Carolina He was born in 1798 and died in 1750. He had sons Caleb,Josie,John and James and they were all born in the 1720's and the 1730's and they some of them had sons old enough to have been the father of Jane Echols so I have been researching this John Echols line thinking maybe Caleb,Josie,James or John Echols might have been the father of Jane Echols but possibly James,John,Caleb and Josie Echols might have been her grandfather. I am researching now theying to find the names of the sons of Caleb,Josie,James and John Echols in Beaufort co NC to thry and find the names of their children. I of course am only interested in the sons and not the daughters since Jane had the Echol's name meaning her father was named Echols. Maybe some of Caleb,James,Josie and John Echol's sons went to Georgia by the 1790's. Thanks, Ross
