In the Original Wilkes Co. Marriage bonds, Lewis Hammock did stand as Security in the marriage of Solomon Ray and Jane Echols- Lewis Hammock was probably a brother-in-law of Solomon as he had married to Elizabeth Ray about 1785- The Hammocks and Rays in that area came from Amelia Co. VA- I think that Solomon, Elizabeth and Sarah Ray who married Thomas Vickers in 1782 were probably siblings.
There is also a Joseph Echols who was security for Acquilla Burroughs and Peggy Parks in 1792- Wilkes Co. I have traced him to James Echols and Caty Evans - Clarke Co. GA- I do not have a list of children of James and Cary-but you might check it out.
