Absolom Echols killed by a Hammock in the 1830's in Alabama

Milner Echol's narrative said Absolom Echols was killed in Alabama by a Johnson Hammock. It was probaly in the 1830's but that is just a guess. I can not find a Johnson Hammock listed anywhere. Would any Echols researcher have info about who killed Absolom Echols, brother of Milner Echols? Thanks
