Milner Echols was married to Susannah Sansom-her father's name is unknown but I believe he was William Sansom of Louisa Co., Va. as John Sansom Dickens md. Catherine D. Sansom in Louisa Co. about 1783 and it stated that John had been previously guardian of Catherine at the death of her father, William Sansom-source is "Louisa County, Virginia 1743-1814 Where Have All the Children Gone" abstracted and compiled by Rosalie Edith Davis-publ. Manchester, Mo. 1989.
Page 15-Louisa Co. Gdn. Bonds 1767-1814 pg. 101-John Dicken Junr. Gdn. to Catharine Dorrell Sanson. Orphan of William
Sanson Dec'd; L500 current money; Sec. Chas. Daniell Junr. and Nicholas Gentry. 10 Feb. 1783 (Nicholas Gentry md. Sarah Dickens and moved to Beford Co., Tn. I believe-my husband is a Gentry descendant of this Nicholas's brother or cousin, David Gentry). Source 2 same as above book, page 101 (Addenda, Louisa Co. Order Books 1782-1783 page 125 dtd. 10 Feb. 1783. Catharine Dorrell Sanson, orphan of Wm. Sanson Dec'd chose John Sanson Dickin Jr. as her gdn.

Richard Dickens is also said to have married a sister of Catherine Sanson(m)-I believe Elizabeth. Other genealogists have said that these girls were d/o Elijah Sansom and wife, Elizabeth but I think the court record should stand in dispute of that.

Milner Echols was married to Susannah Sansom, said to be sister of the above Catherine and Elizabeth. Note that this line of Milner's does use the name Dorrell in it's naming patterns.

Milner's brother, Absolem Echols married Nancy Sansom, a d/o
James and Martha (possibly Lamar) Sansom and there are records in Clark Co., Ga. which point to this fact in estate returns of Nancy's brother John died 1806.
Also, Nancy Sansom Echols is buried in a plot adj. to
Thomas Sansom and wife, America Nunnally Sansom, and she is in the 1850 census of his household in Clark Co., Georgia.
James Sansom came to Georgia from Lunenburg Co., Virginia
with wife, Martha-about 1783-5 and rec'd a bounty warrant for 503 acres of lands in Washington Co., Georgia which later became land in Greene Co., Georgia. His executor and wife, Martha are later selling this land "5 miles from Greensboro".

Another Sansom girl, said to be of this same girl family of Sansom (Richard Dicken md. Elizabeth; John md. Catherine Dorrell; and Milner md. Susannah) is a Sarah Sansom md. a Richard Cole. She died 1819 in Screamersville, Alabama.

Judge William Sansom of 7th Va. troops, who came to Wilkes Co., Ga. and in tax digests is next to the Dickens men, and Milner Echols, is most likely a brother of the Sansom girls in above paragraph. This William Sansom also named a son Dorrell N. Sansom and a Richard D. Sansom-and William Claiborn(e) Sansom were his only sons.
Was Richard D. for Dickens? Judge William d. 1818 in Wilkes Co., Ga.-his wife was Elizabeth Napier-other daus. Mary md. a Thomas Dixon; Ann md. John Burch; Eliza died young at 16 within a few days of her father as did Mary. A sister, Martha O. probably died before 1829 when mother Elizabeth Sansom and John Burch sold lands Martha O. won in land lottery. John's wife Ann had died but they had a daughter who survived her. John Burch md. second, Obedience Dutiful Bugg Cobb, widow of Henry Willis Cobb. Elizabeth Napier Sansom died in Maury Co., Tn. where her son Dorrell N. Sansom and son, William C(lairborn) Sansom both diedd are buried.
Judge William's RS pension application named their children. Elizabeth Napier Sansom much younger than her husband. Elizabeth Napier Sansom was born in 1775. He was 63 when he died in 1818 making him born about 1756. I am not sure where his sisters fit in chronologically but we know that in 1783 Catherine Dorrell Sansom was just coming out of guardian status-

The Dorrell middle name also carried down in Milner's children and grandchildren. Milner's father was James Echols who died in 1825 in Clarke Co., Ga., I am not sure who ilner's mother was.

This is as good a synopsis as I can give of this family and perhaps something there will help you on your quest.

Oh, another small tidbit is when Milner Echols compiled a written history of his Echols family for his children, he stated something to the effect that "Betsy Strozier was a cousin of your mother". I can't recall exact context not be Betsy Strozier and wording and name might of that but if you feel it is important, I will look it up in Milner's history.
