Randy,

I did finally find what I think are Sydnor and Fannie Giles in 1880, enumerated as S. C. Giles, 31, VA and F. J. Giles, 29, MS. If you have a marriage record that says he married a Fannie Echols, then this Fanny fits. In 1870 she was living with Ann Garrett, 50, SC; Nancy Echols, 22, TN, and Pinkney Echols, male, 15, AL, in DeSoto Co., MS. I can't place any of these folks; certainly a hodgepodge and probably all related, but I don't know how.

In any case, this Fanny is the only one in the area that would fit, so I'd say that she's the same. However, I'm still wondering who her father was.

Carolyn
