I am very interested in this Echols line. I descend from (William)Garrett Echols bn ca 1823 in TN. I find him on the 1850 census for Morgan County, AL w/wife Jane (McCarley) and mother Ann 60 bn TN. So I am assuming that the father is deceased. I have not been able to connect with another of the Echols lines thus far. I find him next on the 1860 census poll for Jasper, Crawford County, AR. Living next to Hiram Echols also bn TN. Any ideas who these might be? I have not been able to find them through the usual sources.
