Hi there Valerie. Not really sure, haven't been able to establish a conclusive link back past Thomas Echlin (found in the other post I made that you originally responded to). He married Mary Early (Earley?) and was part of the war of 1812 and granted land in Canada because of it (he was probably in his fifties at the time?) Hope that helps you figure it out, I thought it was the Scottish branch but am not sure as I thought all Echlins were descended from the Scots that came over from Scotland in the 15th c.
