Victorian Mourning Items for 15yr old girl
Up for auction is a 3 piece set of Victorian mourning items. The set includes a lovely photo of the Ellen Eccleston who died on the 21st of June in 1887. She was 15yrs old. The photo is black and white and measures approx 6.5" tall and 4.5" wide. Her casket buckle is also included and it is made of metal and has her name, the date in which she died and her exact age of "15years, 1 month and 21 days. It is quite heavy and has alot of scroll work and frilly detail on the corners that was so typical of the period. The casket buckle measures 4.25" tall and 6.75" wide. Finally the third item is a funeral card which is black with gold writing. It is missing it's lower right corner. It again says Ellen's full name and exact age and date of death and the bottom half features a poem. The funeral card is approx 6.25"tall and 4" wide. A rare find to actually have a picture of the dearly departed. $4.25 in USA. Payments: Paypal, MO or cashiers checks. Email with questions. Thanks for looking.
I thought Eccleston(e) family members would wish to know about this auction.
