Hi Mary Lu. Looks like I may be your cousin and maybe not even too distant!
My grandmother was Miriam Caroline Eccleston sister of your Mahlon Eccleston and Lillian Eccleston from Balto Co MD. Here is some info. Please respond so we can share more. You are my first definite link on genforum!! I met gr uncle Mahlon a few times and he was a card.
This information is gathered from the family bible of John J Eccleston. Your Mahlon John Eccleston was son of John J Eccleston (8/6/1851 - 7/29/1918) and Miriam Slaysman (b 3/15/1855). They were married 10/2/1872 by Rev Sutherland.
I can go back a couple more generations with a bit scketchy info and have some info on the siblings and descendants as well as some good family lore and burial info etc. Please get in touch. Ours is a huge family! I am trying to find the link on one of our ancestors Henry Lightner who was the drummer at the Battle of Ft McHenry in the War of 1812. I believe he was John's uncle. Would love to know any links you have to older living family members who may know something.
You may email me at firstname.lastname@example.org as well as posting here.
Looking forward to learning more on your connection!
