Hi Janis,
The only 100% certainty is that William Eccles was born in Lower Darwen on January 1822 to Joseph Eccles and Betty Livesey. They are non-conformist, both, I suppose. The IGI gives a Betty Livesey marrying Joseph Eccles,but no marriage date. They have Lower Darwen , abt. 1783 as her birthdate. William was married twice, the second was Ellen Reddish in 1859. I am pretty sure that the Eccles were all connected to the first Thomas Eccles who built Lower Darwen Mill, but HOW is the problem
