I really now nothing of Lorentz's family, except what can be gleaned form the early census records, noting the spelling variations:
1800 US Census, Penn Twp, Northampton County, PA,
"Lowrence Evener; -, -, -, 1, -; 3, 2, -, 1, -, ; -, -."
1810 US Census, East Penn Twp, Northampton County, PA,
"Ebner, Laurence; 1 m over 45, 2 f 16-25, 1 f over 45."
1820 US Census, East Penn Twp, Northampton County, PA,
"Ebener, Lawrance; 1 m 11-15, 1 m 45+; 1 f 11-15, 1 f 45+; 1 ag."
In the 1830 census, a Conrad Rearick is listed on the same page as 'Susanna Evener', perhaps with several Rearick brothers; Susanna undoubtedly representing Lorentz Ebner; 1830 US Census, East Penn Twp, Northampton County, PA,
"Susanna Evener; 1 m 10-14, 1 m 60-69; 1 f 5-9, 1 f 60-69."
1830 US Census, Derry Twp, Columbia County, PA, pg 84.
"Conrad Ebner; 1 m 10-14, 1 m 15-19, 1 m 30-39, 1 m 50-59; 1 f 15-19, 1 f 20-29, 1 f 50-59."
There is evidence that Conrad died in 1836 and is buried at Strawberry Ridge, Montour, PA
My interest in this family is the lineage of Daniel Ebenr, who married an Elizabeth Welliver about 1838, and relocated to Perryton Twp, Mercer, IL about 1844.I believe Daniel could be the son (no evidence yet) of Conrad Jr, who had a brother Daniel that is often considered to be my ancestor -- I belive my Daniel is brother Daniel's nephew and grandson of Conrad.
A lot of things about this family that are just not clear cut, but at least there seems to be hope for them eventually (court records in Columbia County -- the index shows several possibilites for further information, I just haven't had the time).Elizabeth Welliver though has truly been hard to nail down!Several possibilities that never seem to be quite right ...
Ah, genealogy, always another brick to turn over,
Bill
