You can tell me more about this second wife -- or is it the first wife I want to know about?
The origins of Conrad are not terribly clear cut. The 1915 Beers, pg 702, says, "Conrad Ebner, a farmer, came to Montour County from Lehigh County ...". And if his wife is Catharina Wertman, there are Wertmans from Lehigh County, also.
There are reportedly church records that could possibly be this Conrad's birth from Mertz Church in Rockland Township of then Berks County in Egle's Notes and Queries, but no firm evidence that this is the same person yet.
Certainly they are of Germanic heritage, but later census records for the children, FWIW, indicate their parents were both born in PA.
Perhaps John Lorentz Ebner, of East Penn Township, Northampton County is Conrad's brother.
