Jess Eblen has done extensive research on the Eblen family - particularly Edward Eblen. The following is from Jess' notes:
Jess found Edward (1)in Roane County in 1809, (2)in "Tennesseans in the War of 1812" as a "Pvt, ... Mil Inf" in the Company commanded by Captain Thomas Gray of Dover, Stewart County., (3) in Stewart County Tennessee County Court Minutes, 1815-1819,(4) 1820 Stewart County Census, (5) Henry County Tax Lists in 1827 -1832 (6) 1830 Henry County Census (7) in "Henry County, Tennessee Wills Vol. 2" in 1833(8) "Transcription of the County Archives of Tennessee, Record of Occupant Entry 1827-1833" Edward is listed in land transfers in September of 1837.At that point Edward, Elizabeth, and their children drop off the face of the earth.
We assume that Isaac, Griffin, and Lucinda Eblin/Eblen are children of Edward but cannot prove it.Isaac and Griffin moved to Howell County Missouri around 1870.
Does this tie in with anyone's research?Does anyone know what happened to Edward, Elizabeth and other children?Does anyone know if Isaac, Griffin and Lucinda are Edward's children for sure? What happened to Lucinda? Those of us who are descended from Griffin and Isaac would really like to get through this brick wall!!!
