John Henry Ferdinand Robert Eberlein (b. 8-21-1836) came to Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH in 1857 after landing in NY. He m. Johanna Elizabeth Pobt (sp?) in Salefeld,Germany (?). She died 12-22-1880 in Montgomery Co., OH. He went by the name of Ferdinand Eberlein, was in the Ohio Vol. Infantry, Company B of the 58th Regiment. They had two children, one child who lived, Carrie...who m. a Guthrie. The daughter died in Paris, Lamar Co., TX at the age of 79. Ferdinand Eberlein died in 6-14-1913 in Athol or Kennsington, Smith Co. KS. He had m. a second time to Nancy Catherine Reynolds in Osceola, Iowa and raised his second family in KS. It's a long shot, but does he sound familar to you?
