Thank you for replying to my message. I have heard of the connection to Eubanks/Ewbanks and the connection to the Yew tree. On at least two internet sites dealing with the history of surnames they mention the Ebanks surname connected with Scotland and Durham in Northern England. Many people in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica also make the connection between scotland. Many of my relatives also remember older relatives mentioning my great, great grandfather stories of life in Scotland.

I have however come to the conclusion that he may not have actual come from there because a lot of things do not add up.
