I have two pieces of information to add to this:First, from a book called "Mulvane, City of the Valley" (Kansas) a note regarding the daughters of George Howard, pg. 175:"The three daughters married three brothers, viz:Melissa who was married to Ben, Anna who married Bill, and Lavina who married Jack Eaves."I have been able to find the marriages of Melissa and Benjamin F. (12/22/1853) and Mary Margaret (Anna) and William M. Eaves, Jr. (9/20/1860) in the Illinois Marriage Index, but that same index shows Lavina (Lovina) marrying John Hilbert, not Jack Eaves. And I haven't found a "Jack", unless this is the nickname for Andrew or David J.
Second, I accidentally ran across an obituary for Benjamin when researching my family in Wayne County:
Obituary from Wayne County Press 3/26/1914:Benjamin Franklin Eaves
Was born February 14, 1834, near Edwardsville, Illinois. He was married to Malissa Howard, December 24th, 1853 near Marine, Ill.To this union were born fourteen children, eleven daughters and three sons.Three died in infancy.Mr. and Mrs. Eaves moved to Wayne county, October 4th, 1892 and lived near Sims for several years an later lived near Boyleston where the deceased departed this life.He professed religion at the age of 35 and united with the Christian church at Marion, Illinois; but a few years later he joined with the Richland church at Snake Island, Wayne county. The deceased departed this life March 28th, 1914, aged 80 years, one month and six days.He leaves an aged wife, eleven children, 4 brothers and many relatives and friends to mourn their loss.He lived a devoted Christian life.
Funeral services were held at the Victory church by Rev. N.R. Lester.
Hope this is helpful.
