This is the line of the Pinkethman you are looking for, although exactly which Pinkethman was your witness, I am not sure -- certainly, however, not the one born in 1702:

William Eaton b: Abt. 1670 in Virginia married about 1694 Sarah Pinkethman b: Abt. 1674 in Queen's Creek, York Co. VA, daughter of William Pinkethman, b. ca 1653 Queens Creek, York Co. VA, and sister to Timothy Pinkethman, b. 1678 in York, VA; d. 19 MAY 1705, who married Rebecca Baskerville.

And from Meade's Old Churches, as occuring in the old vestry book which ended in 1769, the name of Pinkethman Eaton. Children of Wm Eaton/Sarah Pinkethman:

Pinkethman Eaton's will was made in York Co., VA, 18 November 1761, and names children:

His brother William's will, dated 7 April 1786, named his wife Mary and children:

William describes himself as "brother of Major Pinkethman Eaton of NC, an officer in the continental army, who got land for his service." [3rd Regiment, NC Major Pinketham Eaton, 22d November, 1777, to 24th May, 1781 -- same except for spelling?]

Pinkethman Eaton resided in Bruton Parish, York County. He married Mary [unknown]. She may have been a Taylor as the will of Pinkethman Eaton makes his "brother William Taylor, executor." The Will of Pinkethman Eaton was dated Nov. 11, 1760 and probated in York on May 1761. (York Co. Wills and Inventories 21, 1760-1771) His son Pinkethman does not appear in the will, but his name is recorded as "son of Pinkethman and Mary Eaton" in the register of Bruton Parish.
Issue of Mary and Pinkethman Eaton:
(a) Pinkethman Eaton, b. 1748 moved to Halifax Co., N.C. He was a Major in the N.C. Continental line and was killed in action in Savannah in 1781. He died intestate. (Colonial Records of N. C. XXI, p. 361-362; XV p. 481).
(b) Henry Eaton, no record.
(c) Sarah Eaton, no record.
The fact that William Eaton inherited all of the military bounty land that belonged to Pinkethman Eaton would suggest that Henry and Sarah Eaton died without issue.
(d) William Eaton (see below).
(2) William Eaton of Bruton Parish, York County, married Mary [unknown] and died in York in 1803. His Will, dated April 7, 1786, probated in York County 1803 (York County Wills and Inventories 23, 1783-1811), mentions wife Mary and "all my children," and to his sons Edward, William, Henry, John (see below), Thomas, and Pinkethman Eaton "all that tract of land [amounting to 4,800 acres], which I inherit by the death of my brother Major Pinkethman Eaton, which he became entitled to by being an officer in the Continental Service for the state of N.C."
(3) John Eaton, son of William, settled in Halifax Town, N. C. about 1780. He was administrator of his Uncle Pinkethman Eaton's estate. The Will of John Eaton was dated Nov. 30, 1811 and was probated Feb. 1812. (Halifax County W. B. 3, p. 528). He is said to have married Elizabeth Hall. The Will of Elizabeth Eaton, widow of John Eaton, was probated in Franklin, Tenn. in 1843. The Tenn. land of John Eaton, 2120 acres in Williamson Co., very probably part of the land bounty mentioned in the will of his father William, was divided among his widow Elizabeth, son-in-law, Robert Henderson, son John H. Eaton and daughter Mary Pauline Breathett. (Records of Stuart H. Hill of N. Y. ).

(b) Nancy Eaton, m. Hugh Hendzrson Sept. 5th, Halifax N. C. Raleigh Register of Sept. 20, 1811.
(c) Mary Pauline Eaton married Dr. Edward Breathett.
