Hi cindy: I have a genealogy report given to me by Paul Eaton it is 360 pages long and it has every Eaton you can imagine in it.In this report, Jeremiah is listed as a child in the home of William Eaton.William had a son whose name was Jeremiah and was born in 1745/46.Lucy Emmerton daughter of Joseph Emmerton of Sedgwick was bornin 1765/66.Jeremiah was drowned off Little Deere Isle as far as I can tell.I also have a record I got out of the Elsworth library stating Jeremiah Eaton, son of Lucy Emmerton, now the wife of William Norris, was born May 3, 1785.When Lucy married William they had several other children and lived in Sedgwick.William and his family was given a land grant on Little Deere Isle in 1762 and Joseph Emmerton was also given a land grant in Sedgwick.William and his family Eliakim, Jeremiah settled on Deere Isle, his cousins Jonathan and Theophilius settled in Sedgwick.Other than family history about indian being in the family (via Meribah) and the fact that there were only three Eaton families that lived in the area, Jeremiah dying etc, we believe that our Jeremiah was either the son or grandson of William.I may never really find out the truth, it is a mystery.
