Yes, that's the right Eaton! Martha's middle name was actually Jane, and she was my great-grandmother. She married William Wallace Bowen and had two infant sons when her husband died in 1863 in a prison camp in the Civil War. I believe it was in Alton, Illinois, and I believe she was able to visit him before he died. One of her baby sons then died, leaving only baby William. Martha then married a local widower with children, Joseph Licklider, and they had four more of their own. "Uncle Willie" Bowen, my grandfather's half brother, lived in San Diego, CA, and lived to be 100 years old. Martha Eaton Bowen Licklider died of breast cancer in the mid 1920s, and chose to be buried in Bowen Cemetery, among the Eatons and the Bowens, rather than the Licklider Cemetery. My mother, her granddaughter, adored her, and almost named me after her (my Dad, however prevailed on that one). As for Ebenezer, I know almost nothing, except they came to MO from McCoupin, Ill. I can't find them on censuses there, however.
I have very old photos of Martha and her brother James, and will send copies to anyone interested in this line. Thanks for responding!Diane Jane Cuffman Ryder
