Barb,
The Peter de Eyton (III) I was referring to was noted as a knight by both Rev. Eyton and by George Morris. He is the son of William de Eyton (II) and Matilda. He was listed as a knight in 1293 in various documents cited by both Eyton and Morris.Peter de Eyton (II) held land at Lega in 1240, and was the uncle of the Peter I was referring to.
I too have seen some references in some family trees on the internet and LSD data. However, somewhere I read (and I have been unable to find it right now, to cite it's source) that Margery has been erroneously listed as Peter's wife, when in fact she was his daughter.I have seen nothing to verify that she (Margery) was indeed Peter's wife, and unless I can find a more reliable source, I am discounting this marriage.
I do not think that William was the Crusader, but mentioned him only because he was the only other one who could have possibly fit the time line.My feeling is that it was in fact Peter de Eyton (III).
