I like the idea of working in groups andconcentrating or more specific subjects/families/geographics.One of the most difficult tasks of geneology research is that too often we get sidetracked or lost on a tangent and our focus goes astray or becomes too broad.Yes, some very happy accidents do happen along the way, but more than likely we become overwhelmed by the amount of information that we are dealing with, and start having too many "senior" moments even if we aren't.Prior to this point and everyone's gracious contributions, we first had to determine the veracity of certain theories. I hope we have finally come together on some issues, although we may still have many doubts and questions relating to others. We can certainly start with the premise that [all/most] Eytons/Eatons started in Shropshire and migrated outward to many continents. We can certainly hold that the de Eytons were a very noble family if only through land holdings, marriage and political associations. They were indeed connected to the great houses of England, Wales, and Brittany. The continued to be very strong religious and political advocates during the following centuries, and most pioneers in the truest sense.I believe we have a fairly broad overview at this point, and I think narrowing our parameters will allow for more thorough detail and analytical study. But, how should we determine which group to follow or which lineage to concentrate on?How do we decide who works with who?The only drawback to this that I can see, is that during our research we may come across useful information, and I would certainly hope that we would continue to take the time to share even if it is not within our study parameters, or if someone is looking for information on the Eatons from say North Carolina and that happens to be part of our family or previous research, we would still take the time and effort to help.Otherwise, I think narrowing the field a bit and becoming more prudent rather would be beneficial.I would love to have some research pals to focus on topic areas and to brainstorm with.
