Eatons of Woodstock, CT (and Dedham, MA)
hi:
I found this today and thought I would pass it on as possibly helpful to somebody here.
Some of it, actually, seems a bit strange to me because this John could be taken as the son of John 1, founder of the Dedham Eaton family. His son, John was born in 1636, but was not the son of Nicholas. So, I would say there is a strong possibility that two John Eatons were born in Dedham (or Watertown) in that year. The Dedham John 2 had no step-mother. Abigail Dammant/Damon, etc. was his biological mother. Abagail traveled to the new world on the Elizabeth and Ann. her husband, John 1, preceded her by approximately a year. He said on the Hopewell from London 1634.
